Meet the Clumtards
Adi is the heartthrob. A certified Candy cutie who’s also graced the pages of other magazines, he remains “oblivious” to his charming good looks and winning personality. Mommies the world over have tried to set him up with their daughters to no avail. This former DLSU Badminton Varsity player and now full-time Frisbee aficionado only has eyes for… his mom. Well, for now at least. A recent Marketing Management graduate, Adi spends his free time “job hunting” and island hopping. And marketing himself, of course.
Brian , or Bong to his friends, is the budding politician/food critic/tech whiz/travel guide/party animal/whatever-else-slashes-you-can-think-up of the group. As part of the blog group http://manilafoodistas.com/ , he promises to spice up his entries with colorful descriptions like: “scallops with a playful touch of rosemary” or “vodka infused with a hint of oranges and apples”. While Justin dreams of travelling the world, Brian’s dreams are more simple, and patriotic: to be able to travel to every single one of the 81 provinces of the Philippines. Being an avid blogger and working part time as a moderator for www.sanriotown.com has opened a lot of doors for him, and you may see him every once in a while in events all over the metro. As a junior in UP working on his BA in Public Administration, he dreams of becoming a politician to fulfill his burning need to make a difference in the Philippine society.
Denise or Achi Denise, as we have all grown accustomed to calling her is the “eldest” of the Clumtards. A registered nurse who also holds a degree in European studies, she apparently still has not learned by now that imbibing in European liquor (i.e. Vodka) in large quantities is not suitable for people with low tolerance for it (don’t worry kids, she doesn’t indulge often though). It also does not automatically make you King of the Garden, especially when you’re not a boy. When not saving lives, she likes to shop like her sister Tippi, and is a great bargain hunter. Her short stint as a buyer for a major department store gives her extra ’street cred’ as far as trendspotting goes. You’ll surely not lose track of her in a crowd, just wait and listen for that infectious giggle that’s earned her the moniker “Giggles Mcgee”, which also happens to be the name of her old blog.
Gretch to her friends, but Jen to her family, is the stellar performer of the bunch. Aside from being an ME student in Ateneo, she is also part of the university’s volleyball team, and participates actively in 4 orgs, all this no doubt brought forth by a desire to remain active 24/7 because she absolutely dislikes being idle. Known both for her tenacity and bubbly personality, Gretch is known to never give up, and to put on a smile even in trying times. She dreams of becoming a model, but barring that, to just simply have a job that will allow her the opportunity to travel the world. Oh, and for the right price, she will balance a chicken on her head, or play volleyball in a prom dress for you.

When not blogging, he can be seen stalking the hallowed halls of UST, where he is currently in his sophomore year taking up BS Accountancy while also serving as a student leader. His true passion however, lies in the arts, as he is into acting and dancing, among other things. Passionate about music, especially about R&B, he considers himself an introvert who can also be extroverted at times. Jason is also the only Clumtard who doesn’t drink.
Justin is a nerd in the truest sense of the word: currently taking up medicine at UP Philippine General Hospital, one of his favorite ways to pass time is to play poker, scrabble and… study. He is very committed to his craft, and he hopes to either be a pediatrician, heart surgeon or maybe even an ob-gyn. Although these are specialties he’s yet to learn, he’s currently hard at work trying to master the craft of estimating one’s blood sugar just by looking at you. Justin loves to travel and hopes to explore the world someday. Ever the budding adventurer, Justin dares to do what others can’t or won’t do, especially when drunk, like dancing to music in his head with a special dance move all his own. He is also into all kinds of exercise, chief among them are badminton and going to the gym. Add to that his ability to sing, and we’re wondering why women still don’t fall for this man.
Luj is the loudest of the cousins. After being a bum for almost a year, she’s now trailblazing in the broadcasting industry. Enthusiastic about singing, she can identify almost any song just by hearing part of the lyrics. An outgoing person with introverted hobbies (’coz she likes to stay home, watch TV, read a book, antisocially plug her iPod, and shut everyone out), Luj is the quintessential oxymoron. She also remembers every single little embarrassing thing everyone does. Someday, like everyone, she’d like to get rich by becoming a showbiz personality.
Tin is a random girl. Currently in her last year as a BS Psychology student, she thinks she can read your heart’s desires, but we think she’s just been tripping on her feet too much and it’s beginning to have neurological side effects. Adventurous and outgoing (perhaps sometimes too outgoing), and all-sunshiney and chatty, Tin is also the reason why the Clumtards came to be, over several particularly memorable “bonding sessions” which culminated in her tripping and falling on her ass/knees.
Tippi is a girl who loves many things: food, clothes, and shopping among others. Despite difficulties in packing for travel and overnights, one must-have that never gets left behind when she does travel is a special little friend she calls Eis Bar, and the bear has travelled to many exotic locations we only dream of seeing, and has the pictures to prove it. (He also has a Facebook account, so add him up!) Aside from the occasional blog updates, Tippi’s passion for writing extends to various articles for gaming magazines.
