Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf’s 12 Cups of Giving – ‘Tis the Season To Be Giving!

Calling all you caffeine-aholics out there!  Bring all your tired, weary and coffee deprived selves to the nearest Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf this holiday season and join in on the giving spree! The good people at CB&TL thought of a novel way for their loyal customers to be able to reach out to those in need with  “The Twelve Cups with Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf: Give in to Giving” … My that’s a lot of “give” but that’s basically what it’s all about.

Here’s how it goes:
With every purchase of either Ice Blended, Espresso based, Tea Latte or Double Chocolate drink you are entitled to a stamp card with 12 boxes.  Now, every time you order a drink that corresponds each box you get a stamp and so on and so forth until you complete all 12 stamps.  A completed card entitles you to choose which advocacy you will support among the 12 organizations that CB&TL has partnered with and they will in turn donate to that organization in your name.

Take your pick from among these fine institutions:
1.    Kababaihan Gabay Ng Bayan (KAGABAY)
2.    Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP)
3.    Bahay Tuluyan
4.    Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)
5.    Haribon Foundation
6.    Cartwheel Foundation
7.    Caritas Manila
8.    Kythe Foundation
9.    Autism Society
10.    Philippine Cerebral Palsy Inc.
11.    Philippine Band Of Mercy
12.    Resources For The Blind

Since you’ve been a good boy/girl, CB&TL won’t let you leave empty handed.  Limited edition Artists Notebooks will also be rewarded to those who successfully filled up an entire card.

But why stop there?  If you manage to successfully complete 12 cards to donate to all the 12 organizations, CB&TL will see to it that you get next year’s coffee fix from them all for FREE! So it’ll be both a very merry Christmas for you and for someone else in need!

Here are some of the Absolute Cousins, to share with you their favorite organizations:

Tippi for PAWS:

First of all, let me start by saying that I think this promo is BRILLIANT.  I love the fact that priority lies in the giving of charity rather than what you can get if you do, because let’s face it, with promos like these we tend to focus on the prize than the cause.  Now’s the time to GIVE GIVE GIVE!  ^_^

Secondly, let me fill you in on why I’m a big supporter of PAWS. I adore animals.  Being an asthmatic kid with an unhealthy obsession with cute furry animals is not fun.  I couldn’t have a pet to share my lonely wheezing afternoons with, no little friend for me to share my secrets with, no such luck for those of us allergic to fur.

But I was always interested in learning more about them.  I devoured animal encyclopedias along with my recess and lunch food.  And knowing more made me love them more. I believe whole-heartedly that animals were entrusted to us humans for us to care for and to love.  Which is why it saddens me that cruelty towards them still exists.

While our country may be a bit far from establishing a entirely humane approach to our furry friends, I believe that PAWS has been doing a swell job of spreading the word and educating people on giving them the respect and love that they deserve.

Besides, any org that loves my Eis Bar gets 4 paws up in my book! ^_^

Tin Chooses Autism Society:

This was the advocacy that I chose to help. Being a Psychology major, I have come to know what autism is all about. Contrary to what most people may think, they have a lot of potential in leading a normal life. This potential can be reached as long as there are people available to understand and help them with their special needs.

Giving books with the hopes of providing information and education for the parents for me is a very worthy cause. These materials will enable the parents to not only help autistic people with their daily living, but also improve on their parent-child relationship. It may be one of the only chances people with autism may have in having normalcy in their lives.

Understanding is the key to improving the lives of both people with autism and those that live around them.
